We frequently get questions about discounts at Litchfield Station.
That's understandable - everybody wants to save money!
First, let's talk about Litchfield Station's pricing policy.
We work very hard to run an efficient operation. Keeping our costs as low as possible allows us to keep our prices competitive and still be profitable. If we aren't profitable, we won't be here tomorrow to help you with your DCC questions and future purchases.
We know that we don't operate in a vacuum. We have competitors out there. While price should not be your only selection criteria when you are placing an order, we know it is of concern. We watch other vendors' pricing and try to keep our shopping cart prices competitive. Occasionally, a customer will find a competitor with a lower (DELIVERED) price than ours. We usually can meet it. Where vendors have imposed "Minimum Advertised Prices" (MAP), we calculate those prices TO THE PENNY and that's the price we offer our customers.
Where products don't have MAP, we offer competitive pricing in both single units and quantities. Many of our decoders have a 2% discount on 4 or more of the same part number and 6% on 10 or more. If you have any questions about this, contact us!
There are two categories of discounts that we are frequently asked about. So, we will try to answer them here.
DIscounts for individual club members.
We believe that you should get the best price possible everyday, whether you are a club member or not. We price our products that way. Our every day prices represent a 20 to 26% discount off MSRP (retail) prices.
We realize that many LHS (Local Hobby Shops) offer a discount to local club members. We find that these discounts are nominally in the 10% range. Most of them offer these discounts off their normal prices which are usually Retail (MSRP) or very close there to. Thus, our everyday prices are a much better deal for you whether you are a club member or not!
Our web pricing incudes allowances for the cost of postage and processing credit cards or PayPal payments. Folks who pick up from our store and pay GREEN FOLDING cash (U. S. dollars) don't need these services and shouldn't have to pay for them. We offer a 5% "Cash and Cary" discount off our web prices. This discount will help against the Transaction Privilege Tax that Arizona charges (currently 8.8% for us).
Discounts for Clubs themselves.
Our major suppliers offer one time bulk discounts to clubs that are open to the public and willing to display (advertising) information about whose DCC system is in use and where it was purchased.
While there are minor differences between manufacturers, here are the general rules. Contact us for more details.
- One order per club is allowed
- Prices are discounted 30% off MSRP (retail)
- Additional discounts or allowances are not possible,
every dealer must sell for the same price - Items ordered can be for both club use and the use of the members
- Product is ordered through the dealer and payment is provided in advance
- Product is shipped from the manufacturer directly to the address provided for the club in a single shipment
- The club is responsible for distributing the ordered items to the members
