Sound installed in a Bachman HO Shay

The new version of this loco has an 8-pin NMRA socket. This gives you choiecs. You can wire the decoder directly into the socket as shown here. Or you can add the NEM652 plug to the Micro Tsunami and then plug it in. Either way, the wiring color code is on our web site: CLICK HERE.

Mount the Tsunami flat side against the metal shell with thin tape or light adhesive for heat removal.

HO BACHMANN SHAY TSUNAMI INSTALL

Cut away the capacitor that is connected to the circuit board, labeled C1.

For the speaker, SoundTraxx makes a kit, that utilizes the SP-14x25-08 speaker. We recommend the use of a 2 pin plug and socket between the tender and loco for ease of maintenance.
